Pipe Relining, Woollahra

Scope of works

Project Overview

The project involved addressing a defective section of a sewer line located beneath a high-traffic roadway. The scope included trenchless pipe rehabilitation and the excavation of a severely damaged sewer junction that could not be relined.

Key Works Undertaken

Pipe Relining

Completed 7 metres of trenchless pipe relining to restore the integrity of the existing sewer infrastructure.

Excavation and Sewer Junction Replacement

Excavated the roadway to access and replace a major cracked sewer junction that was beyond repair via relining methods.

Traffic Management

Implemented full traffic control measures to ensure safety and minimal disruption due to the high-traffic nature of the site.

Site Restoration

Conducted backfilling of the excavation and performed a thorough clean-up upon completion of works.

Site Conditions

Location: High-traffic roadway

Risk Level: High (due to traffic volume and nature of underground works)

Sewer Root Intrusion, Merrylands West

Scope of works

Project Overview

This project was undertaken to resolve persistent and severe sewer blockages caused by widespread root intrusion across the property's sewer system. The scope involved trenchless rehabilitation, targeted excavations, and the replacement of key sewer components.

Key Works Undertaken

Pipe Relining

Relined a total of 77 linear metres of sewer pipe affected by root intrusion.

Completed 7 junction cuts to facilitate access and effective relining of interconnected lines.

Excavation and Replacement Works

Identified multiple sections of pipework that had collapsed and were unsuitable for relining. These areas were excavated and replaced as required.

Replaced an existing Overflow Relief Gully (ORG).

Excavated and replaced the main sewer boundary trap at a depth of 2.6 metres.

Site Conditions

Extensive root intrusion across all lines.

Multiple areas of collapsed pipe requiring excavation.

Works included both trenchless and open excavation methods due to varying pipe conditions.

Boundary Trap and Reline, Woollahra

Scope of works

Preliminary Approvals and Site Preparation

Council Application: Submit a council road opening application for approval.

Service Locating: Obtain “Dial Before You Dig” (DBYD) utility service maps prior to commencement.

Note: All associated council and service location fees will be passed on directly to the client.

Excavation and Access

Road Surface Removal: Saw cut and remove a 2m x 2m section of asphalt and underlying road base.

Excavation: Using mechanical assistance (excavator), excavate to a depth of approximately 2 metres to expose:

The collapsed sewer dropper

The associated junction

The main sewer line junction

Removal and Reconstruction

Demolition: Remove and dispose of the damaged dropper and collapsed junction.

Junction Support: Install a concrete bedding to encase the new sewer junction and provide structural support for the riser.

Pipe Rehabilitation and Construction

Pipe Relining: Reline the 6-inch pipe from the boundary trap arm downstream to the main sewer connection (approx. 6 linear metres).

Riser Construction: Construct a new 6-inch PVC riser from the main to the road surface, including:

Installation of a new house line junction

Termination at surface level with a heavy-duty lamp hole lid for future rodding access

Backfilling and Surface Restoration

Pipe Zone Backfill: Surround all newly installed piping with blue metal aggregate in accordance with Australian plumbing standards.

Final Backfill and Restoration: Backfill the remaining excavation with existing soil, compact as required, and reinstate the asphalt surface in accordance with local council specifications.

Sewer Line Repair, Mosman

Scope of works

Project Overview

This project addressed a damaged section of sewer infrastructure located in a residential area of Mosman. The works involved a combination of trenchless pipe rehabilitation and targeted excavation to repair a compromised sewer junction. The project was carefully managed to minimise disruption to local residents and protect surrounding assets.

Key Works Undertaken

Trenchless Pipe Relining: Installed 6 metres of trenchless pipe relining to reinforce and seal the affected sewer section without the need for extensive excavation.

Targeted Excavation & Junction Repair: Excavated a section of the site to access and replace a failing sewer junction that was unsuitable for relining. All works were completed with strict adherence to safety and environmental controls.

Traffic and Pedestrian Management: Implemented partial road closures and footpath diversions to ensure the safety of residents and site personnel, with minimal impact to local traffic flow.

Site Restoration: Conducted backfilling and full reinstatement of all disturbed surfaces, including road base, asphalt, and footpath areas, returning the site to pre-works condition.

Site Conditions

Location: Residential street in Mosman

Risk Level: Medium (due to proximity to dwellings, pedestrian activity, and underground utilities)

Main Sewer Line Repair, Parramatta

Scope of works

Project Overview

This project involved the repair of a heavily deteriorated main sewer line servicing a strata property managed by New South Wales Strata Management. The existing pipework was the source of recurring blockages and had deteriorated beyond the point of relining. The solution required full excavation, pipe replacement, and surface restoration.

Key Works Undertaken

Full Sewer Line Replacement: Excavated and removed the defective section of the main sewer line, replacing it with new infrastructure to ensure long-term reliability and eliminate ongoing blockages.

Concrete Reinstatement: Upon completion of the repair, all affected concrete areas were reinstated by our team, ensuring a clean and professional finish.

Site Coordination: Implemented partial road closures and footpath diversions to ensure the safety of residents and site personnel, with minimal impact to local traffic flow.

Site Restoration: Worked in close coordination with strata management and site occupants to minimise disruption and maintain safe access throughout the works.

Site Conditions

Location: Strata property, Parramatta

Risk Level: Medium to High (due to live service connections, shared access areas, and confined workspaces)
